Brian Edward Cox (lahir 3 Mac 1968) ialah seorang ahli fizik British dan profesor fizik zarah di School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Manchester.[2][3] Beliau telah menulis sebanyak lebih 950 karya berkaitan sains[4] baik yang berat mahupun ringan; malah turut mengacarai program-program TV berkaitan sains bidangnya di BBC termasuk siri "Wonders of...".[5][6]
Ringkasan hidup
Cox lahir pada 3 Mac 1968 di Royal Oldham Hospital.[7][8] Ibunya seorang juruwang kepada cawangan Yorkshire Bank di bandar Oldham manakala ayahnya merupakan seorang pengurus tengah cawangan sama bank tersebut.[9] Beliau belajar di Hulme Grammar School[10][11] dari tahun 1979 hingga 1986.[12][13][14]
Beliau terdorong mempelajari bidang fizik setelah membaca buku Cosmos karya ahli astronomi dan penulis terkenal Carl Sagan semasa berusia 12 tahun.[7][15]
